The Dixie National has been a favorite among the past Congress Queens so I was super excited to go to this show! Known as the Southern Classic, it is the premier event of the Mississippi Quarter Horse Association. Held in February on the State Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mississippi, it is the largest quarter horse show held during a stock show in the nation. The Dixie National Quarter Horse Show is the largest in the South and the third largest quarter horse show in the United States.
An average audience of over 5000 come to the Free Style Reining held on Friday night --- and is such a blast! I was introduced, got to drive a tractor, and got to throw t shirts during the intermission. The Dixie National Equine Expo, the largest equine related trade show in the south, runs in conjunction with this show too. The Equine Expo features everything imaginable for the equine enthusiast along with a midnight madness shopping spree after the freestyle reining. Which I also attended and met tons of young fans. (and Entered into drawing to win a mini horse!)
Big thank you to Nikki, show manager, for having me this year!! It was an incredible weekend and I am SO honored to have been included with everything in memory of Andrew.
