This weekend was such a huge deal for me, since I have been long anticipating this trip long before Congress. I have wanted to look through the archives of the old Congress programs on a hunt for history. The SCQHA Queen history had been recorded very little throughout the years minus the few queens I could get a hold of myself.
Meeting Hannelore at Congress was the next huge step to my history hunt, just when I was thinking I was at a dead end, I got a little more information.
So I planned an extra day in the mix with the OQHA Year-end banquet to dig around the office. (thank you Danielle!)
Finding all the photos and info was soooo much fun, only missing a few years. The trend changes (AND color being added!!) in the photos was so fun to see.
See my about the queen page to see all the photos and past queens!!
The second part of my trip was incredible too. The OQHA Banquet was nothing less then extraordinary with all the prizes and items won. I am so blessed to be part of this huge and amazing organization.
In February 2019, Sarah Beth Felker was crowned the SCQHA Queen. She grew up with a love of riding and showing Quarter Horses. Sarah Beth currently attends St. Andrews University working towards a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Equine studies, and she competes on her school’s IHSA Western, Hunt Seat, and Dressage teams. In her free time, Sarah Beth volunteers at the Ride Like a Knight therapeutic riding facility at her school where she assists children with developmental and physical disabilities through equine related activities and therapies.
